Dzisiaj znów trochę o sztuce wedlug Bela Hamvasa.
Pojawi się też ważny wątek ptasi, który obiecałam już jakiś czas temu, a także kilka słów o mnie i o Piotrze.

Oboje z Piotrem jesteśmy osobami kreatywnymi – wymaga tego od nas choćby nasze codzienne zajęcie, architektura. Mamy jednak zupełnie inne podejście do projektowania i do samego procesu tworzenia. Ostatnio pięknie uświadomił mi to Béla Hamvas.

Ten węgierski pisarz o sztuce pisał tak:

"Istnieje sztuka, która jest geometryczna i rozumna, niemal pitagorejska, klasyczna, a w każdym razie żyje z istnienia jakiegoś porządku. Wobec tego promieniuje z niej zmysł proporcji, pewność i wiedza. Ten rodzaj sztuki możemy nazwać orficzną. Sztuka orficzna jest sztuką poskramiającą, a celem każdej orfiki jest harmonia. W Europie za najwyższy stopień sztuki uważa się orficzną klasykę."

I to jest podejscie  Piotra.

Natomiast moje podejscie do tworzenia bardziej charakteryzuje sztuka magiczna, którą Béla Hamvas opisuje w następujący sposób:

"W każdej sztuce obok wartości porządkującej, dyscyplinującej i poskramiającej istnieją również elementy wywołujące moce. To sztuka magiczna, która co jakiś czas wybucha (...). Sztuka magiczna nie hamuje – przeciwnie, przyzywa moce. Nie jest rozumna, przeciwnie – jest imaginacyjna. Żyje w stanie odurzenia. Nie pewności szuka, ale entuzjazmu. Wyzwala siły, po które sięga."

Śmiałam się na głos, gdy to czytałam. Ale tak – to chyba rzeczywiście moje podejście do tworzenia. Choć w całym tym entuzjazmie szukam także rytmu – niekoniecznie klasycznego.

Dowodem są moje prace, które często powstają pod wpływem impulsu, jakiejś iskry światła, o czym już kiedyś pisałam. Tak powstał choćby dzisiejszy rysunek – bardzo ekspresyjny, szkicowy.

A żeby pokazać, jak silna jest w Piotrze potrzeba harmonii, odsyłam do zdjęć zamieszczonych poniżej. Przedstawiają domek dla ptaków, który Piotr sam zaprojektował i wykonał. Jest w stylu ... klasycznym.

To zresztą kolejny z jego ptasich domków – i nie ostatni.

Piszę o tym, bo szczególnie wzruszył mnie ten gest zadbania o harmonię także dla ptaków.

Domek wisi na drzewie od dwóch tygodni i już kręcą się przy nim sikorki.

To tyle w tym poście.
Tym razem nie mam pojęcia, co będzie za tydzień. Może grafika "Salto immortale", a może prtret Justyny, bohaterki Kwartetu aleksandryjskiego, a moze cos zupelnie innego.

Today, once again, a few thoughts on art according to Béla Hamvas. There will also be an important bird-related thread, which I promised some time ago, as well as a few words about myself and Piotr.

Both Piotr and I are creative people — our everyday work in architecture almost demands it. However, we approach design and the creative process in completely different ways. Recently, Béla Hamvas helped me see this more clearly.

This Hungarian writer described art in the following way:

"There exists an art that is geometric and rational, almost Pythagorean, classical — in any case, it lives from the existence of a certain order. From it radiates a sense of proportion, certainty, and knowledge. This kind of art we may call Orphic. Orphic art is an art that restrains, and the aim of all Orphism is harmony. In Europe, the highest form of art is considered to be Orphic classicism."

And this is Piotr's approach.

My own way of creating, on the other hand, is better described by what Hamvas calls magical art:

"In every art, alongside the ordering, disciplining, and restraining values, there are also elements that evoke forces. This is magical art, which erupts from time to time (...). Magical art does not restrain — on the contrary, it summons forces. It is not rational — on the contrary, it is imaginative. It lives in a state of intoxication. It does not seek certainty, but enthusiasm. It releases the forces it reaches for."

I laughed out loud when I read this. But yes — this is probably very close to my own approach to creating. Although within all this enthusiasm, I am also searching for rhythm — though not necessarily a classical one.

My works are proof of this — they often emerge from an impulse, a spark of light, something I have written about before. Today's drawing, for instance, was created in this way — very expressive, almost sketch-like.

And to show how strong Piotr's need for harmony is, I refer you to the photos below. They show a birdhouse that Piotr designed and built himself. It is, quite fittingly, in a… classical style.

This is, in fact, another one of his birdhouses — and not the last.

I'm writing about it because I was especially moved by this gesture of caring for harmony also for birds.

The birdhouse has been hanging on the tree for two weeks now, and great tits have already started circling around it.
