Z obecności pod cytryną

Niedziela. Godzina 5:30 i ciągle jest ciemno. To mnie jednak zaskoczyło.

Jednak "Cudze słowa" Wita Szostaka mocno siedzą we mnie. Fajnie.

A jutro do pracy…

To dobrego tygodnia.

pssst…

Już 6:00. Świt.
Przejaśnia się… good, good.

Zapraszam na fb - wrzucilam tam polecajki z moich wakacyjnych lektur.

Under the Lemon Tree

Sunday. 5:30 a.m., and it is still dark. That surprised me. I like early mornings, but I like them even more when they are bright mornings. Summer, however, is slowly passing. And since I like autumn, in the end, this passing is hardly the end of the world.

A dream woke me this early — a dream filled with the delight of a children's theatre. It's a shame I can no longer remember the plot of the play. Perhaps some drawings would have come out of it, described in my own words.

My own words…

And yet Cudze słowa by Wit Szostak is still very much with me. I like that.

I dream of having my own illustrated theatre for children. The problem is that the subject matter may be a little too grown-up, because the story revolves around responsibility for words. Perhaps from time to time I'll put an episode of this little theatre on the blog. A weekend experiment, born out of a need of the heart. First, though, they need to get my hand fully working again.

I might as well admit it now: I couldn't resist and made a quick print.

Of course, I shouldn't have. Perhaps as punishment, the girl has a sour expression, because my hand is still not entirely obedient.

And out came these lemon-coloured afterimages of summer holidays.

To hold on, just a little longer, to the vitality of warm, saturated colours. To record that unhurriedness, that mellowness. A little theatre of presence beneath a lemon tree.

And tomorrow, back to work…

Have a good week.
